#SelfLoveProject

Ninety percent of my clients are women and many times I've been asked. Do you do boudoir photos?

I was always intrigued by the reason why women wanted to do boudoir photos. After asking many of my clients the reason why they wanted to do them. I got many different answers. Like: "I have always wanted to do them but I never felt confident enough" - "A friend of mine did it and she loved it", They are experiencing a life-changing event or simply because they want to explore their wild side.

If you google the word Boudoir you will find its definition as "woman's bedroom or private room" Truthfully it is that space where women can be themselves privately and intimately. Without fear to be criticized. It is a place where women can be alone with themselves, their feelings and their dreams.

Why Boudoir?

As a photographer I always get the question “Why boudoir?” and the answer to that is very simple. Boudoir doesn’t just empower you, it empowers me as well. It gives me the opportunity to get behind the lens of a camera and capture images so beautiful and so powerful that it can bring tears of joy to a woman’s eyes. I get to be a part of the process of showing, not telling, a woman how truly remarkable she is. I get to see women truly believe in their worth, their strength, and their beauty, and I gotta say, I couldn’t imagine doing anything more magical.

THE PROJECT

I started this project back in 2016. A bride and personal friend of mine had probably one of the most challenging experiences a woman can have. She divorced the love of her life and after many years of being the wife, the mom, the chef and full time family manager she had enough. She called me crying one day and told me she felt like she needed a change. She wanted to prove herself that she was still beautiful and desirable. She wanted to do a boudoir session and I was the only person she felt comfortable with doing them.

We started planing for the location, the wardrobe and the hair and make up. The day of the session came and she looked stunning. She was glowing and she projected a beautiful energy that made her shine during the entire session. She was a little shy at the beginning but after a few minutes she started killing it.

We had so much fun shooting together. After the session she told me how wonderful she felt and how comfortable and self confident I made her feel. I was humbled and so happy to have had the opportunity to do these photos for her. Not only because she is my friend but because of how special she felt and how much she loved her images.
